Not much action in Second life today so just hanging out on a nice place I found. It is so hot in Sweden today so just sitting in front of my VR machine is to much.
I do not know if I am going to do much more stuff in SL.Just can´t decide where to go from here.
Our internet link is terrible so I try to fix it. Did a test hypergrid jump to OSgrid and found my self in a party. Had to stay and chat. Always nice people on OSgrid and some good music. Stayed a while.
I am on vacation so i do some WOW and a lot of thinking about what to do now and how. I am in a vacuum and all the artwork goes nowhere. The companys goes nowhere. Almost everything is standing still.
I play WOW and a lot of other games. Peeking in to Second life. Thinking and walking.
What is going to happen now?
I am in Second life around 15 minutes a day now. Visited SLB16 and: not impressed. Lots of old stuff. But I liked the new homes.
There are a few changes but I feel that Linden lab do not know what to do. There are still a lot of nice art exhibitions and a few great builds but it is like waiting for a bus and not knowing if it is coming. Then possibilities with animation and mesh is great but is anyone using them. These changes are for pro developers like me but I cant see the everyday user creating with these difficult systems.
Looks like a lot of developers have abandoned Second life for other work. Maybe the changes was to late.
I am waiting for the bus to see what is going to happen??
It will be like this for a while until the new networks are working.
The 2worlds2go grid does not really work. There will be a lot up and down so nice it is summer.
There are so many nice places to see in Second life. Wide angle shot. Because I use the Oculus to explore. That´s the best setting.
This sim is really texture heavy but if you can wait you can get some nice pictures. It is a go and see. But not for the weak computer.
Visited the project and i dressed to fit in. As i am a builder myself i always like visiting a nice well built sim.
As a virtual photographer it is also nice to be able to take some pictures. An well spent day in SL.
The heat gone in the building so no reason to work. Decided to take a WOW day. Set up on the new game computer and finally got the quest with the selfie camera. Everything worked fine. And i am doing many more selfies now,
Tech have fixed the heat now so back to work.
Sketching some new clothes. Working with mesh now. It works better for things hanging and shrinkles.
After a heavy day with server upgrades it is just time to party.
Club end of days is a favorite. Exactly what you need after a hard day at work.
Opensimfest is 1,2,3, March and i am working creating the pictures right now. I am doing some of the graphics in a VR 3D paint program with Leapmotion only using my hands. And of cours the rest on my Opensim grid. Trying out new stuff.
Sometimes I just come to Second life to sit. It is nice too.
Flying in Norway is always a challenge. First a snowstorm and then lucky it cleared up.Trying out the new X plane 11 and it is really good. I can use my Oculus for flying and Vatsim also works. And today´s runway was over a hill. So not so good landing and difficult. Falling more and more in love with my XP11. And the very good graphics.

Tried out the new Sansar on Steam. And the tech is better now but it really freaked me out. When you stand in a small room and suddenly a strange man stands next to you in some weird outfit it feels really bad. It is too real for me. I will regroup and try it again sometime.
It is nicer in Second life. I use VR there too and the cartoonish world of SL never makes you feel that bad. Even if people are not nice.
BRRR Sansar was not a nice experience today. But looking down I got bigger boobs and I am slim. So something good about VR.

Just had to take the boat trip again. This time with the Oculus on. There are till new things to do in Second life.
Did four hours of Guild wars 2. It is a somewhat difficult user interface but the graphics look very nicer. And i like the maps and monsters.
Try to get back to it later in the week.
Finhally got the gaming rig i deserv. Found it in Second life. Where else?
Just have to unpack my sound studio. Where ever it is now.
Wawing from High Fidelity to you. We now got some new hardware for the Sandbox. Nothing there yet as we have to move the storage server to. But it is a a start.
We are now owned by Digital Kittens AB in Sweden. Some big hope that we will be more Kittens and can do more stuff in VR. The website will be the same and also the Hypergrid will continue to work as before.
Disclaimer. We will move some servers so there can be some disrupt on the Opensim grid..,. Sorry.
But on the bright side we get a new High Fidelity sandbox. That will be fun.

The work on the website continues. It will change and GDPR will make it less social. I hope to find a way to keep the downloads in some form. Have to find some new servers though.
Now things do not look good for virtual worlds at the moment. Opensim and Second life getting old a the new worlds have no traction. Very few visits.Our grid looks like a desert and no one knows what to do.
I think virtual worlds will be back and i hope 2worlds2go will be a part of that. I continue my artwork and run 2worlds2go on the side to.

Been a long time since i had my virtual camera out. And it shows.

We have decided to get rid of the names in registration. Nobody use them anyway and if anybody wants to they can edit their profile. More slimeline registration process for downloads.

After finishing work on the servers and got them going again. Hypergrid up by the way. I had to do a jump.
Today it is Tranquility Welcome. Never been to this grid before. Found stuff i wanted but don´t know what currency to use. That is annoying.
But all in all a nice visit.
Really like the new Italy expansion. The streets are very narrow in the small villages and it is hard to get your trailer around without breaking anything.
I do not understand how people drive without the Oculus or another headset. Need to use the mirrors all the time.
Parking is also hard and very tight. I like it.

Long time since i where out partying in Second life. But i had really a good time and i where up way to late as the Dj just keept on playing. Second life is still fun. But i have to move again as more and more islands disapper. Well yesterday where all about fun.
Finally I got some of my hardware to work and I have had a fun afternoon honking at trucks while driving slowly in my new car around Scandinavia. The landscape is just beautiful and the roads nice. I will have some coffee and then it is onward to the continent.
This is so much fun.
First time i really go deep inside a VR game. Well i got sick for a few times. But it works in the game because i suppose i would if i was trapped in a space station and moved around to much. It is a nice touch. Keep still in game to not get sick. It is a cool game and scary. Feeling of being there is nice.
So you can do a nice VR game without killing things. I like that.

one some work on the website. Missing menus back, errors corrected. Lots of stuff that did nor work removed. Trying to slim things down so we wont get hacked again. Lots of stuff fixed. Phheeww. nice.
Visited An evening at the Ballet by Bryn Oh. Not easy to find something you like. Bryn Oh is one of my fav artists in SL and she do not dissapoint. Like several tableau with a strong feeling of being in the theatre. I liked it.
Visited some other nice places but the feeling of being alone is creeping up on you. When i visited Astro Port there was a avatar just standing there and when in VR that is just scary.
Visited the beach today and i am amazed. The mesh quality of things in Second life. And done right it is not very hard on the graphics card. Reducing lag. If it is done right.
I used my Oculus to inspect the nice work and it made it a very nice experience, blink, blink. ( Did you see that.)
Now we only need a new viewer and some some new shaders to play around with.
The thing we all have been looking for is finally out there. Linden labs Sansar. I have been checking it out for a while but now i can write about it and that is nice.
And so is Sansar. Nice.I have a Oculus so i can check out the experiances all the way. And i still say Sansar is nice. The graphics good. The update is good. Will be great if you want to do a simple game. And i suppose people will create new tools you can use to make buildning easy. As a user of AltspaceVR, sinespace, High Fidelity and now Sansar i just ask my self ”will anybody ever use these products?”
It have a distinct feel of Blue Mars. You wait for the download and then come into a small space that look great and wonder why am i here? Is there any reason at all?
There will be some cool games i guess. But if i want to play a really cool game i have Steam.
At the moment i think it is a question about wait and see.
PS/ When i get out of Sansar i go back to my ordinary life at the Hypergrid and Second life. It is more fun! /DS
Well it is still a Beta. Wanted to look different and i do. So went thru the process of getting a new avatar and it worked all the way to The High Fidelity viewer and then something did not work out.
But i have a new Avatar. Now to get the textures right.
It was time to start work on Lendonia again so i did some updates and put in some new stuff. Nine regions is a lot of stuff to handle. It is very empty right now and i have done 2 areas almost ready but now i come to the castles and towns. Have to read up on what they should look like.
Things start to look better. Could not use my Leapmotion hands. Pity when you can not give people the finger. It starts to look like a world now. Most things work and now they need people and developers i guess?
It is fun to play around for a while. But i think i wait for a while to develop anything. Still have not figuered out how to make a solid ground. Not that difficult but you know there are other worlds to visit.
I have a small store at Pride this year. Go there and get two free pride Lions.
After looking at Westworld i started to study AI and found that this is really something i like to do. My first education was in in information theory and ther was a lot of pshycology and sociology involved. So it is nice to start to do some research in an new field and have some use for my old educaton. Not everything is VR and computer programming.
There are a lot of work done so it could be easy to integreat AI into avatars on my grid. Unforunatly most of the old websites are gone but i hope to find more scripts and software. I have bought a Raspberry PI that i was thinking could run my first avatar.

And now as usual it is all work and more work. But it is going to be fun. I have longing for something to sink my teeth in.
I have a very nice view from my house. Lucky me, I spend some time here in Second life. It’s a private place so you never know when it is gone. But I enjoy it for now.
We have been thinking a long time about giving the web a big overhaul and now it is time. So for the next weeks things will be changed and made strange or not working. Sorry but it is needed. The cooperative website and the cloud will be down from time to time to.
On the upside we will put in a new more permanent High Fidelity server.High Fidelity.
The Opensim servers also need some work so the grid will be up and down and sometimes upside down.
This is a great build of ancient Rome. Just walking around made me very impressed.

I am trying to transfer some buildings from Opensim and Second life to Blender and then to High Fidelity. It works ok but the file size just gets to big. So some kind of degrading of the models would work it is mostly blocks anyway. Checking plugins for Blender now.
Some Viagra peddling idiots hacked the website to sell some more shit on the internet. The website will look a little strange as we have to upgrade all modules and remove all old ones. Do not know how they got in. Finding out.
Also removing all old user accounts.Do you want to download get a new one.
The site is ten years old so it is time for a upgrade anyway.

Just checking in and checking out new places. SL still alive and kicking.
Nice thing with the France expansion is that everybody that got it are serious truckers. No driving in to each other, people using flashers and generally are nice to each other.
I just stay in expansion area. Where every good trucker drive.
Today I made a small step for me. I started to work with the new Bento avatar. It was just a test to see how it works and what you need to do to set it up. As you can see I have not done any texture work on it yet but I will. It looks good, have to start looking at animations next and texture.
For some reason there have been a bug in the template system that made it impossible to log in. And I have only been logging in to the backend so I never got any info about it. But the problem is solved now.
Time to do free downloads again.
Just got a beta test key for MyWorld from the GameCreators.
I am building some stuff and checking out the game system.
You can build your own levels of game play and play them with your friends. Or just try out the pre build games.
It is very simple and easy to create. As I have been using Game Creators products for many years i wish them all the best.
Still use Darkbasic for prototyping. Nothing like it.
After a few days of work the new Linux server is working. The new RAID system will hopefully make content loss a little bit more difficult.
Landed at Copenhagen. Nice to fly from Hamburg done that 3 times now and start to learn the airport. Doing it again soon.

2worlds2go have been a major part of my life the last ten years. As a company and most of all as a website. The many connections in virtual life and the many meetings and fun with nice people in the startup community in Malmö. I have had a lot of fun.
The company 2worlds2go is no more and the 2worlds2go website will be around for a while. I will run it and the grid because i love virtual reality and all the friends i have found. But there is no reason for me that run several special websites with all the different special areas in VR and i do not have the help of all the nice people doing great work anymore. It is only me here.
Simulation, Open source, web shop and and he swedish website will be crammed into this web site.

After installing almost everything that say webkit i finally got my Linux OpenSUSE viewer working. Singularity. This where a difficult one. But now i can finally log in happy.
Havent really been taking pictures for a long time but there are a lot of new photo tools in Firestorm. Learning and just playing around.
The grid is changing name to Digital kittens network and is now owned by Anna Lorentzson Art and Design.
Changing logins but the islands are still there. Hope to develop the grid further but still do not know how.
It is nice to be back in a world i love right now i am mostely looking around and try to figure out what happend since i last was here. And i i got loads of the old stuff i made before but as i can see the quality of artists in SL really have improved. So i have to shape up to get anything done.
But i just learned i will have loads of time in front of my computer and i am a fast learner. It will be greate.
The Nils Art gallery have moved to a new website and Nils have a new homepage about Second life and Opensim.
OpenSUSE leap 42.1 have a issue with latest mono. So by downgrading Mono to 3.6 we now can have the servers up all the time and they do not shut down inside of 24 hours.
Helps a lot when you admin the servers.
We also have a dedicated server on the web for the main 9 islands.
The grid is up but there are still some islands not working. A few visitors found their way,
The airport OAR is updated some errors ironed out and a new building. Enjoy.

Sorry but the grid is still out. We are renting a new server on the net for the welcome island but i have not had time to set it up completly yet. It will be very much more powerful and makes it possible to have more avatars online and also to run a club. Looking forward to it up and running.
I also have some changes in the pipeline and going to finally fix the missing road piece on the airport.

Sorry to say that the error in Opensim is still there. After a lot of reading and trying to get things to work it looks like the problem is in the Linux Kernel.
I suspect that the error may have to do with the network as it do not perform as it should.
Doing a hardware upgrade and then we have to see if the Welcome island stay online.
Strange thing is that the Robust server is ok on the same machine.
There be no more Upgrades to OpenSUSE servers until the problem is solved.
The new update of the servers have had some problems. Still thinking about how to solve it, So it goes up and down all the time. Hope to fix it eventually.
At the momnet we are not running the High Fidelity stack manager. It eats memory and crashes both the Opensim sand box and it self.

Opensim is now such a stable piece of software and used all over the hypergrid so i am moving it to the main site. Not for the research pages it is today software we use daily and in production even if it is beta.
After a big update something went wrong with the downloads.

Mobius grid is kind of a strange place to visit. As i understand it they all like some cartoon figures. But they are always friendly but can be a little to much sometimes. It is also one of the places on the hypergrid that are always occupied with these guys.
It is absolutly worth a visit if only to see the main island build.

Found a error when you try to load 2worlds city oar on the latest Opensim server. Cant replace with a new until OSgrid gets back online.
Wait to download until 1.1 if you use Opensim 0.8.
It is kind of sad but we have to change the license agreement from Creative commons to a commercial license. It is our insurence company that want it so thats the way to go. I hope you still will download and use our software and graphics.
I am working on some changes for the new downloads. I am sorry to say that we are leaving the Creative commons license for some of the new downloads. And a new EULA is coming.
And stuff will be downloadable and usable for US and Canada but but you may not use it. Our insurence company tells us we cant sell stuff in north america. So looking for a partner company for the US. To many lawyers.
I do some work on the website then i will concentrate at getting all the half ready OARs ready. Thats something positive.
Avalon town is closing in a week so it is time to close down the gallery once more. But as usual we will resurrect as a Phoneix in the new Avalon town. I do not have a new exhibition yet but it will take some time to build the new gallery and then i hope for some new stuff.

I have made some textures for winter and put them at Lendonias mountain tops.It looks a lot better and I can fit in some winter landscape.
I have started on some building blocks for a medieval city. There is no way I can build the main city without building blocks. So I am working on it.
On the developer grid website I just got a new project system and a new website for 2worlds2go developers. Soon I hope that more designers join 2worlds2go for even greater projects.

I am working on a lot of new web templates i hope they will be on the download area soon. First i have to do the new exhibition. Websites are getting new updated templates. Ready tomorrow.
The first steps in getting the 2worlds2go network website up and running again is on its way. THere are still a lot of things to do but it slowly is taking its shape. A new cleaner template and i have some texts to write. Starting over tomorrow.
We have a new catchpa module that we are going to try out. It is a jigsaw game and maybe it works better than the old one.
We also have changed accounts. If a account is idle it will be deleted after 6 months.
Unconfirmed a day and never logged in a week. This happens on automatic so do not feel like we do not like you.
I do not see any problem as you always can get a new account if you need it.
Downloads are open again. Lets see how it works.
Unfortunatly there is a bug in the download software that makes it impossible to download sometimes. We do not know why. So in the near future we need to do logins/for downloads.
We do not like it but now we can open the forum to, so something good comes out of it.
After some testing we are now moving away from MySQL to MariaDB. Work as good and MariaDB now comes with OpenSUSE. The developer grid could be down for some time during the transfer.
It is soon time for a new exhibition at the Nilsart gallery. Really short of time and the gallery have been a little on the side but now i hope to get a new one. It is about textures something every builder needs in SL.

I have started work on a new menswear collection for Second life. I think that men should have the opportunity to have a nice stylish wardrobe.
I think i will call it the Ipad collection because i do the sketches on my Ipad. Really need a better tool for making fashion in SL.
I have too dream something up.
I am redoing the tracks at 2 worlds city to fit the SLRR standard the last thing before i will realese the OAR file on the site.
I have also started a new area build for Opensim a new Megaregion, the Lendonia World.

I have setup my Ipad and some offline writing for the website. Slowly trying to get things working. Using this summer to finishing off all the small things that is not working and I can see there is a few that still need fixing. The work continues.

After two major breakdowns the new joomla site 1.7 is up and running. Still some backend problems but it is working now. I do a new template tomorrow. All plugins work and i have to see if i use the social connections they ofte take to much server power.

I am right now checking out the new happening at the Office. Live feed from LOL architects. Dancers and 30-40 crazy Swedes looking at the thing. This is like experimental. But not that much anymore. It is like any Friday night party in SL. Bright lights, music and some avatars dancing. The only difference is that people dont say a word, just look at the thing.
Its all taken in. Like any happening i have been to in a gallery in real life.

Finally its Friday and this work week comes to a slow stop. I am working on a new company HQ in Second Life. But i ran out of prims so i wait to show the place until i am satisfied it looks alright.
Instead a picture of me coding lsl, in world.
Always sitting by a computer in real or SL. And i know that i have to start the work on updating the website. Ahhh i wait until next week. Now its party time. Thank god its Friday.
So i do not even have to leave home to go to a concert. I am at Eden in Second life listening to Al Hoffman doing improvisations on midi guitar. And its good. And a crowd. And for a good cause.
And i have not even left home and it is a good thing because i have to go up and fight the worst operative ever, Windows Vista. Nothing works at all. It really sucks major.
So Monday morning and my Internet provider can not get in touch with half the web. Great. But after an hour i am online again. Then of course Vista stops working, as usual. Worst piece of software released in years, too early, again
Monday, it is not my day.
Today i have started the work on my new restaurant concept for Second Life. Do avatars need to eat? Of course they do. And i am doing a bar downstairs in the building and fill it with my SL books. So its going to be a building, furniture, lamps and artworks all packed in a box and ready to set up. Thinking of making a directory on my web site of all 2worlds2go restaurants in SL. That could be something.
So i am at the gallery opening Lois Landon playing and the place look fantastic. Everybody are happy. And people loves my design so i am happy to. The only thing i miss is the glass of wine i usually get in a RL opening.
But in Second life you can not get everything. But i suppose somebody soon makes a gadget so i can get my wine to.
And the owners (Karen Schreiner)s artwork really work out with the design of the building. Its new and colourful standing out against my design.
And its soon midnight in Sweden and all fun must end sometimes. So it does.
Todays work was to do some competition designing on Dreams/shockproof. Everybody makes very nice beautiful stuff so i decided to do something completely different. A kind of waisted landscape. Broken down world, but with a waterfall as that is the competition theme. And i wanted some particle extras. And it looks good at least right now.
So finally i have the Asgard gallery building in Second life ready. Go and see it. And see the art inside. Its a treat.
I am continuing too build more places in SL for the gallery community. Its fun.
The 2worlds2go.com web site got a few new pages and its now incorporated with my old web site.
I have problems getting the help forum up anybody have a database expert free. Anyway just working on.
There are a few people out there thats interested in what we do and how our projects proceed.
And now i am writing at to many places so i thought it was better to keep one blog for both art projects and the 2worlds2go company because the work is really similar.
So right now the development in second life are moving along good. The new gallery and the machina studio vill be up soon.
And i have designed a new gallery. The Asgard gallery. And i hope it will be up and running in a few days. I think Karen wants to get her pictures up really fast.
I will try to put up new info on this blog insted of our website. It kind of gets to be to much info and the website got to much anyway.
So the reason to start a blog. I like it.
I should have done this a long time ago but 2023 was a terrible busy year. But now i got around to it. You will see it in Second life and on the hypergrid.
It was really hard to to get it ready in time but it worked. So i am in place this year too.
We have tried to optimize our server space but now we are back at the old website again.
Hope to do some more writing from SL and Opensim if there is any time.

Don’t know if anybody saw my exhibition on OSfest 2022 but I got it together in the end. Some anims a lot of black and fire. It was ok.
Just travel and have to do some reading. SL is a cool place.

A small trip to Osgrid. Very nice to just sit and rest after a long day in the tech world.
Second life and VR are now mainstream and I do not know if this company is a mainstream company. So as many times during the pandemic and the last years I have been thinking about closing it down. I will always love SL and I am in VR everyday. But. Where to go from here. Is there still development possibilities for a small company or do it all belong to the big ones like FB?
I know a decision has to be made but I do not want to do it. I love my virtual worlds and my hypergrid and I will stay online as long as I can. But maybe not as active and as a pro. Age is also taking away from the equation.
It is time to decide.
